Living in a community can propose multiple types of relationships, depending on intimacy and the presence of sufficient outdoor space, adapted to needs. Thus, the contemporary family seeks diversity: a space as close as possible to the freedom and tranquility of life in the yard while also offering accessibility to all city services. Our proposal for collective living takes into account these increasingly prevalent needs and pays special attention to the comfort of the residents. They want more than just a housing unit; they desire an open, airy, and flexible interior space, wishing to fully enjoy their home life. Within the project, we have designed 8 apartments with 3 and 4 rooms, with the living area at their core, using the access node as the axis of symmetry. The hub of the house revolves around the functional node attached to the staircase and thus creates a fluent relationship between the external terraces and the living area, as well as the sleeping area of the apartment. The floor plan configuration is partially symmetrical, yet it helps outline various pathways between the more intimate spaces and the communal ones. Externally, the generous terraces create a substantial filter for privacy from the street and encourage spending time outdoors in a manner similar to that of a ground-level courtyard. They receive ample light due to their orientation on three sides and the particular detail of the intrados. At the detail level, warm materials (such as wood) have been chosen to create a pleasant atmosphere both inside and outside.
